Zanellato Bortotto
Designer

In 2013, after having completed their degrees at the Università IUAV di Venezia and the Ecal de Lausanne, Giorgia Zanellato and Daniele Bortotto established the Zanellato/Bortotto studio in Treviso.

They debuted their first project, "Acqua Alta," at the Salone Satellite in Milan, paying tribute to Venice. This project launched their sustained exploration of how locations and the passage of time interact, a study viewed through the prism of traditional craftsmanship. They collaborate with both Italian and international companies, and their works have been featured in prestigious venues such as Rome's MAXXI, the Triennale Design Museum in Milan, the Poldi Pezzoli Museum, Somerset House, and The Aram Gallery in London. In 2015, Elle Décor Italy recognized them as Young Talent of the Year. They won the NYXxDESIGN award in 2016 from the American magazine Interior Design and received a Red Dot Design Award for their project "Storie per Cedit." In 2018, they were honored with a Good Design Award for their Bix chair designed for B-line.

Giorgia Zanellato and Daniele Bortotto works are internationally recognized, appreciated not only for their aesthetic appeal but also for the stories they convey. One such work, launched at the latest Milan Design Week in 2023,

The sails, fixed to a boat's mast, are driven by the breeze, swelling majestically and creating sophisticated lines that echo the whispers of the wind. Historically, sails have symbolized the compromise between man and nature, embodying the dialogue between these two realms.

This concept is elegantly captured in "Vela," Italian for "sail," a sofa whose silhouette and intricate details mirror the grace of sails themselves.
