Francesco Binfare
Designer

He is a distinguished intellectual, artist, and designer with a deep and longstanding connection to Edra. Born and based in Milan, he honed his skills in drawing and painting under the guidance of his father.

Since 1960, Binfaré has applied his artistic talents within the industrial field, primarily serving as the artistic director for research centers and project promotion. In this role, he has been pivotal in involving architects and designers in the creation of products that have become iconic pieces of Italian and international design.

In 1992, Massimo Morozzi invited him to design for Edra, marking the beginning of a significant phase in his career. This collaboration led to the invention of important sofas characterized by their extraordinary expressive power and innovation, further cementing Binfaré’s reputation in the design community.

"A product is a gift: you are giving the sensation of something that didn’t exist. If, on the other hand, it's something you think others need, then it's marketing."

His design philosophy emphasizes crafting each piece with dedication, focusing on uniqueness and distinctiveness. This approach elevates his designs beyond mere functionality or market-driven demands, ensuring that each product not only provides superior comfort and timeless aesthetics but also offers a unique and outstanding experience. This commitment to innovation and quality makes his work groundbreaking in the design community.
