BROKIS is situated in the heart of the Czech Republic, approximately 140 kilometers southeast of Prague, in a village called Janštejn. As part of the Janštejn Glass Group (JGG), the company operates its own glassworks backed by over 200 years of tradition.

The Czech premium lighting brand BROKIS represents a synthesis of exquisite design, superior quality, and the remarkable artistry of Bohemian glassmakers. Conceived by renowned Czech and international designers, BROKIS lighting collections have steadily earned international acclaim and recognition. The company combines handblown glass with other refined materials, such as wood and manually pressed metal, in bold lighting compositions that push the boundaries of contemporary design.

Glass waste is fully recycled, resulting in zero glass waste in the factory. The primary component of this recycling is BROKISGLASS, which arose from the ecological manufacturing practices of Janštejn Glassworks and BROKIS. This unique material is made from glass shards discarded during the manufacture of BROKIS handblown glass lighting collections.

BROKISGLASS has significantly reduced waste material. The transformation of waste shards into a new decorative product represents an environmentally friendly and efficient upcycling process, enabling the glassworks to employ a strategic circular economy. This contributes to creating a healthy symbiosis between nature and humans. The next steps involve developing procedures for new glass blends that can be added to other materials, such as concrete, to achieve 100% reuse of waste glass shards. These materials are applied in new BROKIS collections.
